November 2025 – System Update
A Nov. 15, 2025, system update has refreshed the look and feel of SIS pages primarily used by staff administrators and academic advisors. Please note that page functionality, usage and access remain unchanged. If staff users encounter any issues, contact sis@msu.edu for assistance.

Name Changes
As of August 2025, students can only make updates to diploma name via the My Profile tile in SIS. To make updates to your chosen name for campus use and other identifiers, please visit MySpartanIdentity. To update your legal name, contact the Spartan One-Stop.

Students, please update your current (local MSU) address in the Student Information System. Current address is the address where you are living this semester. MSU academic policies require all students to provide this information every semester.

Students can delegate guest access in SIS. To make changes to guest access, click on the My Profile tile and Share My Info Electronically in the left navigation to update those options. 

Find more information and resources about guest access on the Guest Access for MSU’s Student Information System web resource. Please note: It may take up to 24-hours for a new guest account to be granted access to SIS.
