March 1, 2021
Release 5 of the SIS Modernization Project is live!
Release 5 includes new functionality for staff as well as the developmental pieces needed for Academic Year 2021 – 2022 enrollment in April. Specifically, Release 5 encompassed:
- Academic Advising: Advisors can now use the What-If Report functionality to simulate how a student’s coursework may apply to different majors/plans. Advising admins and staff can enter course substitutions, and advisors and tutors can create drop-in time blocks as an option in their appointment scheduling.
- Financial Aid: The Office of Financial Aid will begin packaging in the new financial aid portal for continuing students, and professional judgement applications will be available via the financial aid portal.
- Student Records: Matriculation and term activation for fall 2021 will start being processed in SIS this release. Affected staff on campus will begin entering student permissions (overrides) later this week, and designated staff will begin managing class wait lists after enrollment. And as mentioned, students will use SIS for enrollment beginning April 2, 2021.
This release also saw additions to MSU reporting capabilities and the new data warehouse, including new reporting views, tables and user resources. Learn more about these changes here.
Affected staff can find information about training for the new functionality on the SIS Training page. Users can also access additional help information and resources on the SIS Help page.
