Release 6 of the SIS Modernization Project is live! This release introduces new functionality for campus users.
Release 5 of the SIS Modernization Project is live! Release 5 includes new functionality for staff as well as the developmental pieces needed for Academic Year 2021 – 2022 enrollment in April.
In just a few short weeks on Jan. 11, 2021, Release 4 will completely wrap-up with the deployment of additional SIS functionality to students and staff.

The Student Information System (SIS) Modernization Project has been steadily working toward the implementation of a new student information system. Later this fall, the Project team will be introducing new user-facing functionality for students and staff that will bring significant improvements to the campus community. As we approach these change moments, we wanted to provide you with some important information.

The SIS Modernization Project is excited to share that Release 3 is officially live! For the first time in this release, staff outside of the SIS Project team will begin using Campus Solutions. Release 3 functionality primarily impacted the Office of Admissions as well as Registrar’s Office staff embedded on the Project.
This summer, for the first time, MSU staff outside of the Student Information System (SIS) Modernization Project team will access the new SIS, Campus Solutions. This system will bring a new student experience to campus and provide the institution with a more modern and agile platform to meet the ever-changing needs of students and higher education.

New Student Information System Implementation Paused in Response to Campus Feedback As the Student Information System (SIS) Modernization Project approaches its first user-facing release of Campus Solutions on Feb. 3, 2020, Project executive leadership has determined it is necessary to pause our implementation and reevaluate our timeline.
The current Student Information System (SIS) is outdated, but it is a critical tool used by students, faculty, and staff. A project to modernize SIS is currently underway; see sis.msu.edu and also tech.msu.edu/about/bolderit/it-transformation/sismodernization- program.
Student Information System (SIS) Modernization project leaders are preparing to invite College and Major Administrative Unit representatives to discuss how related unit-based systems, applications, or reports will be affected by implementation of a new SIS. I am writing to request your participation in this university-wide project.
Release 2 go-live of Campus Solutions was completed on Monday, Nov. 4, 2019.
On Thursday, June 27, the Project Organizational Change Management Team (OCM) worked with Dave Byelich, vice president for planning and budgets, to send a communication, co-signed by Mark Largent, interim associate provost for undergraduate education and dean of undergraduate studies and Thomas Jeitschko, associate provost for graduate education and dean of the graduate school, to MSU’s major administrative units, both academic and business, to identify an individual to serve as the Change Coordinator for their unit for the duration of the project.
On March 8, 2019, a change hold was instituted for the current SIS landscape.
