Release 6 is Live!
June 21, 2021
The SIS Modernization Project officially launched Release 6!
Release 6 introduces new functionality for our campus users and includes:
- Academic Advising/Tutoring: advisors and tutors can now create impromptu meetings in the Advising and Tutoring Appointment System in SIS. Users of the appointment system can log the unscheduled conversations, email exchanges or encounters they have with students.
- Campus Community: New service indicators are viewable in SIS to support student financial processing. Existing holds were converted to service indicators in May.
- Financial Aid: functionality to prepare for disbursement activities, Return to Title IV and Satisfactory Academic Progress are included in this release.
- Student Financials: the largest piece of Release 6 includes Student Financial functionality for students and staff. Tuition calculation and third-party contract management will be moving to SIS, and student billing, payment plans, and refunds will all be managed in the new payment portal. Functions for students will be available on July 20, 2021, when fall 2021 bills become available.
Additional changes have also come for the data warehouse and reporting, including new reporting views to support Release 6 functions. Find more information on these updates here.
Training for Release 6 has been ongoing over the last several weeks to prepare new users for the system. Training resources for those groups as well as users who are already working in the system can be accessed on the SIS Training webpages. Users needing help, both technical and functional, should visit the SIS Help webpage for more information.
