Campus Engagement Events

Over the course of the SIS Modernization Project, the Project team engaged with campus in several online webinars. Find the resources and recordings from those Campus Engagement events in the accordions below.

Change Coordinator Network

At the start of the SIS Modernization Project in 2019, colleges and major administrative units were asked to identify one or more individuals to serve as Change Coordinators for the duration of the Project. Change Coordinators were to serve as the primary liaisons between the SIS Project team and their respective colleges/departments or unit.

Over the course of the Project, Change Coordinators were instrumental in supporting the successful implementation of the new SIS by helping their respective units prepare for changes associated with SIS modernization. If you have any questions regarding the Change Coordinator Network or college/departmental/unit contacts, please reach out to sis@msu.edu.

Data and SIS Auxiliary

Throughout the SIS Modernization Project, any application utilizing SIS data, either directly from the mainframe or from existing data warehouse tables, required optimization in order to properly function after the transition to Campus Solutions. These ancillary applications are collectively known as SIS Auxiliary systems.

  • Data and SIS Auxiliary Resources

Visit the SIS News SharePoint site to access information, processes, and responsibilities associated with discovering, assigning, assessing, scheduling and completing remediation work for items in SIS Auxiliary systems. Find specifically:

    • Data Timeline and Frequently Used Tables: document that describes when data will become available in the data warehouse, conversion scope notes, frequently used tables, and report and derived views
    • SISCS Data Documentation and Mapping: Learn more about SISCS data documentation and mapping via MSU’s Information Governance Catalog tool at aboutdata.msu.edu. The IGC tool serves as MSU’s data dictionary for Campus Solutions. The IGC contains column definitions, mapping tips for legacy SIS, and data protection/classifications to help us protect MSU data. To learn how to navigate the IGC, sign up for the self-paced training module on D2L: IGC in D2L.
